Sights and Sounds of Nature

There may be times when you feel anxious, angry, or sad and as a result your mind and body become over-stimulated. Your thoughts begin to take over and your feelings become larger and larger. Whether you’ve experienced something terrible and frightening or just had a really bad day at work - it’s difficult to maintain your focus, calm yourself or even just fall asleep.

Practice using the sights & Sounds of nature now:

Before you begin, check in with yourself:

  1. On a scale from 1 - 10 (10 is high and 1 is low), where is my _______(list your feeling word) right now?

  2. Write it down and make a note of it in your journal, on your phone - somewhere.

  3. Choose a picture below and then click on it to watch and listen to the various sights and sounds of nature. What do you notice? What feelings do you experience before/during/after watching the video?

Afterward, check-in with yourself again:

  1. On a scale from 1 - 10 (10 is high and 1 is low), where is my _______(list your feeling word) right now?

  2. Write it down in your journal.

  3. Pay attention to how you are feeling now and write about your experience in your journal to share with me at your next session.
